Donation Box

It's been some time since I did one of these posts. Deals are a bit fewer and harder to come by. I've also been tired and stressed lately, so with my busy schedule unnecessary shopping is being kept to a minimum. Lots of this stuff is from a while back and it was time to pack it up and give it away.

Donation Box

Just a quick look at the Donation Box from the past couple of weeks. I'm glad I started couponing with the goal of saving money and giving back as much as I can. ^_^

Stamp Out Hunger

I had planned on doing this tomorrow and posting my CVS trip instead. Blogger it seems had other plans and was down until a few minutes ago. I need to head off to work soon, so Stamp Out Hunger it is. These are the items I'm putting out by my door.

These are all items I got for free/cheap or bought ages ago and never did anything with. (Canned veggies anyone? I seem to eat only the frozen one now.) It feels good to clean out my pantry. Time to figure out what to do with that chicken broth. Why does Sweetheart hate soup so much? It's cheap and easy to make, but he hates almost everything. Miso is about the only one he will eat and even then he leave the broth. Gerr . . . must be more creative!

Donation Box

Baby items! Thought it could be useful at a women's shelter.

I don't have enough time today to actually post my budget. (I'm picking up a few unexpected hours at work.) Instead I thought I would share the pictures I took of my donation box. Unfortunately I could take one nice large photo. To much stuff at roughly all the same height.

This 'box' is different than the previous one. All medical related items are actually going to Africa. An older couple came into to CVS looking for donations. While the store couldn't I could as an individual. I was hoping to get more items together, but sales just haven't been that great. (Or lack of stock.) The rest of the items are going to a local women's shelter.

I didn't know what I was going to do with those vitamins, but they were on the list!

TP! Everyone could use some TP and dish soap.

Donation Box

While my Sweetheart was sick on my birthday I decided to pull out the items I had set aside for donation and catalog them. I don't really need to do this, but I like having the records on hand for when I feel down about being unable to give my time or my money. (No regular schedule and a little tight on funds to give as much as I would like.) After writing it all down I counted 70 items! These are all form the month of September and October. It's slowed down a good bit lately, but I'm hoping it will pick up again soon. Now if I can just get a semi-normal/regular schedule I can actually try and plan things out.

Donation Box August Purchases

This is a bit late as I was so busy! Better late than never. This will get dropped off on Tuesday when I have more time. I didn't realize how much I collected until I laid it all out. It doesn't look like so much when put into boxes. Also donated 25 of the 30 Kellogg's cereal from the Weis sale & Kellogg's catlaina. (See here.)

Donation Box

I've wanted to give for a while, but I don't have lots of money. I don't have a consistent chunk of time to set aside. I've felt kind of stuck. One of my projects has been to collect what I could through couponing for free items and then give away what I don't need. I'm happy to say after two months of really going for the deals I'm able to give away my first box of donations. It's not a lot, but one never knows how a small deed might help someone or inspire someone else.
